My Dream Classroom
For my dream classroom I would teach Health Education. I believe it is a very important subject today in our society. The subject material would stress upon nutrition, exercising, and how to control stress. I could incorporate a webquest that would have activities for the students to complete each day. It could be an ungoing unit plan that has one webquest for the unit. I also could use powerpoint, microsoft word, microsoft excel, or you tube for videos to back up my lesson. Technology can be incorporated in many ways in the health classroom. I am excited to apply my skills that I learn to my future dream classroom!

Chpt 1 Short Answers
1.) Name two advances or developments that have occurred in technology since the 1970s that you feel have had significant effects on education, and explain why these technological changes had such effects.
One advance or development that have occured in technology since the 1970s that have had a significant effect on education would be smal desk top microcomputers. They were used in companies, universities and school districts. Teachers could now have a some what control on students education and keep in a network with their co workers. Another advance or development that have occured in technology since the 1970s that have had significant effects on education would be the World Wide Web. The World Wide Web is a great research tool that can be effective for teachers that would like more further research done in their lesson or unit. Also, it is a tool for students to gain knowledge and become aware of everything that is out there.
2.) Discuss one emerging trend in technology and the effect it could have on classrooms and schools.
One emerging trend in technology and the effect it could have on classrooms and schools is the debate over dired vs. inquiry-based, constructivist instructional methods. Long used and well validated directed uses of technology have been shown to be effective for addressing standards.
3.) Explain reasons for developing an electronic portfolio.
There are many reasons in why one should develop an electronic portfolio. A portfolio is a collection of student's work products over time, arranged so that they and others can how their skills have developed and progressed. A portfolio can store or display documents. Teachers can keep track of students work. They offer teachers advantages of cataloguing work. On an electronic portfolio one can display videos, and audio presentations. This is important if you would like to show a video in your lesson or for a student to create a presentation.

Hey!! My name is Emily Herr and I am a Junior majoring in Health and Physical Education. I am from good ol' York, Pa. I am currently the Vice President of the National Honors Fraternity here on campus named Phi Sigma Pi.
My experiences with technology is defianetly improving as I get older and as the times are changing. I learned to type in High School and improved with the computers since then greatly. In the classrooms here at Lock Haven I had to adjust to Smart Boards as of at home we were still using white boards. In high school the teachers would use projectors and have their notes electronically placed up on the screen to easily write and copy down. I believe as the technology improves year after year our society becomes more aware and more technology friendly which will enhance education and improve the economy greatly.
I've noticed the elementary schools are now having students in grades 3-5 learn how to make a powerpoint presentation. What is going to happen next?!
I am very much so looking forward to this course. I would love to be more computer friendly and have more of an understanding on how to improve my work and dedication to technology. This is important going into the education field because of accomplishing the goals of the circulum successfully and to the best completion one can achieve through technology. I hope to become aware of problems that I could face down the road to further my education. I also would love to help others out as well with a problem they may face towards technology.
